Tryouts for our 7th and 8th grade Power of the Pen teams are held in early October.
Description of Activity: The Power of the Pen team is a competitive writing team consisting of only 8 students per grade level. The teams attend area tournaments for 3 rounds of writing to be judged. There is then an awards assembly at each tournament.

Membership Requirements: The Power of the Pen teams are selected by tryouts.
Tryout Information: Interested students will come to tryouts and write on 3 consecutive Thursday mornings. The most creative and well- written pieces will be selected.
